My Sweet Valentine

Nightmare ending in TokiMemo2...or maybe it's just this writer spending his Valentine's Day at home.
Readers who find this love for love-simulations unnatural--or even disturbing--tend to forget that this is, after all, the digital age. If the whole world can lose their heads over toys like Bandai's Tamagotchi or Sony's Aibo, it isn't surprising that love-simulations and virtual girlfriends should also find a home in gamers' console machines and PCs.

For the otakus (die-hard fans), one thing will always be certain though. In a fast changing and unpredictable world, it is reassuring to know at least that in the comfort of their own rooms, a part of their world can never go wrong.

So here's wishing a happy Valentine's Day to all readers out there. I'm sure you'll have something wonderful planned for the evening. As for myself, I'll return to sitting in front of my TV where the loved one waits, knowing that nothing can wreck this romantic evening.

Well, even if something does, there's always this thing called the reset button.
