An unexplained phenomenon called Hell's Gate has replaced the skies over Tokyo. Then the "Contractors" appeared--perfect killing machines who have traded their humanity for special powers and abilities. With countries vying to uncover the secrets of Hell's Gate, the intelligence agencies turn to these Contractors to wage their bloody war. Lee Shenshun appears to be just another Chinese student living in Tokyo, but the mild-mannered young man is a Contractor--the much-feared agent BK201, the Black Grim Reaper.

As the war in the shadows intensifies, detective KIRIHARA Misaki from Section Four of the Criminal Investigation Division is determined to investigate the spate of violance and the Contractors linked to them.
