It is an age when humans are preyed upon by demons. To fight the demons, female warriors are infused with demon flesh and blood to become a stronger race of half-demons. And because they use huge swords for weapons, they are called "Claymores". Claire was a young girl when she first met Teresa, the strongest of the Claymore.

Claymores must follow a strict set of rules that forbid them from taking a human life, and when Teresa kills a human to save Claire's life, she is hunted down and eventually killed. Vowing to avenge Teresa's death, Claire turns herself into a Claymore and travels the land in search of Teresa's killers.

Claymore is an action fantasy series based on YAGI Norihiro's manga series (serialised 2001~). TANAKA Hiroyuki makes his directorial debut in this series produced by animation studio Mad House.
